Wonderful, historic 7th Regt New York National Guard dress uniform (107 Regt in WWI). the unit is reknown for breaking the Hindinburg line in the attack on Sept 29, 1917. Suffering 50% casualties and winning four Medals of Honor in the process. Early history shows the 7th Reg't NY National Guard being one of the first units to wear the traditional grey uniform. This unit was on hand to welcome French General Lafayette upon hia arrival in the U.S. The unit served continuously from its inception in the late 1700's to the end of WWI. During the Civil War it was stationed in Washington D.C. manning the forts and later serving in New York, puttng down draft riots. The coat is in excellent condition, all buttons are attached, each stamped on the back 7th Regt. Name tag states 107 regt and has Davidson written in ink. No record of the owner is available.
